Armed-robbery suspect eludes police on ground, helicopter overhead in Somerville

An intensive search that began around 9 p.m. for an armed-robbery suspect in the area of Lowell and Vernon streets ended without the man in custody - but with police confident he'd left the area.

The chase for the thin white man in beige pants was joined by a State Police helicopter. The guy may have held up a convenience store at Highland and Cedar.
