Bad crash leaves scooter driver lying in the road at Blue Hill Avenue and Seaver Street

Around 10:50 a.m. Because of the severity of the victim's injuries, the homicide unit was called in, just in case. The intersection is shut for an investigation; MBTA buses have to find a way around it.

Sad. The second really bad hit & run on Blue Hill in a few days. I hope the city looks at traffic calming possibilities. Especially with the Zoo and the Franklin Park playgrounds there, lots of little kids cross Blue Hill and Seaver in that stretch.

From the zoo in the 70s and I remember kids and dogs getting hit by cars all the time.

Was it a law-abiding scooter rider passing through, or was it one of those kids on illegal scooters who ride with kids on illegal ATVs, zooming around the city like maniancs, doing donuts on baseball fields, and popping wheelies at red lights?

If it were a bicycle there'd be 300 comments so far...
