Bibim and Aeronaut Get Green Light From Licensing Commission

The Licensing Commission met last night, approving licenses to exciting new businesses in Somerville.

Taking the agenda out of order, the panel met with representatives from Bibim Restaurant who will be occupying the old McDonald's space at 243 Elm Street. This license was the deciding factor, at least that's how their spokesperson made it seem at the community meeting, on whether they would expand the popular Korean eatery from their Allston location. The Allston storefront does not have an alcohol license.

After a brief explanation and description of the menu items, Commissioner John McKenna inquired whether they had any violations associated with the Allston joint. A 'no' answer gave the Commission all they needed to unanimously approve the all-forms license, paving the way for Davis to have a brand-new Korean eatery.

Another big approval came with the much-talked-about Aeronaut Brewery located on Tyler Street. Represented by former Ward 5 Alderman Sean O'Donovan, the company made a great impression with the Commission who were excited to approve the first Famer's Series Pouring Permit for beer to the new Somerville-based brewery.
