Converse lit up the sign atop its new headquarters at Lovejoy Wharf at 5 p.m. today with a fireworks display set to "Enter the Sandman" by Metallica.

In a building from which most of the Big Dig construction flaws were supervised? What could go wrong?

Newbury Comics lost a little bit of its soul when it put the Black Album as their main window display in 1991. I'm glad Converse is going after the suburban metal head burnout market. Maybe Reebok in Canton will counter with a Taylor Dayne song at some point and some pink Michelin Man aerobic shoes.
