BPS sets up online fundraiser to help students displaced by East Boston fire

The school department has created a page to let people help students at the O’Donnell and Samuel Adams elementary schools and the East Boston Early Education Center. Along with their families, they lost everything in last Wednesday's eight-alarm fire.

    What is the source to verify this actually is being run by BPS?

    I feel like often there are "fundly" or similar donation-soliciting sites that are claimed to benefit someone after a disaster, but we have no way of verifying.

    I share your skepticism. In this case, a message about it was tweeted yesterday by Melissa Dodd, chief of staff at BPS and then retweeted by the official BPS Twitter account, so I figured it was legit.
