Chelsea man wanted for double shooting that left one dead

Enamorado

Chelsea Police and the Suffolk County District Attorney's office report they are looking for Hector Enamorado, 36, on charges he shot two men on Chester Avenue early Sunday, one fatally.

Anybody who knows where he is can contact Chelsea detectives at 617-466-4843 or the anonymous tip line by calling 617-466-4880 or texting CHELSEA and their information to TIP411 (847411).

Police have yet to identify the murder victim, 29, because his next of kin have yet to be notified. Both he and the survivor are Chelsea residents, although neither lived at the building where they were found, the DA's office reports.

This will make yet another shooting that happened within a block from my house. I.. unlike last time.. didn't hear anything. I was out cold at that hour.

I honestly want to know wtf man... 3am on a Sunday morning. The two victims didn't live there, and neither did "hector" (pretty sure he didn't) and no witnesses as of yet. Makes you wonder what was going on there at 3am on a sunday morning.

I honestly think it was drug or gang related... nothing good happens after midnight, especially in Chelsea. And yes it's always drug or gang related in my 'hood.. always.

And if folks are keeping track, this will be the fourth shooting or stabbing in my neighborhood since January. This will be the 12th since I moved to Chelsea in 2009. ugh.. wondering if its time to re-evaluate where I live. But if I leave, the criminals have won, and I am not quite ready to wave the white flag yet.

Just tired of the killing that is going on......

Every year when lease renewal comes around, I always take a look to keep my options open, and I keep seeing more and more gorgeous places listed. I think hey, maybe it wouldn't be that bad. Then I drive through and think nooope. Even One North doesn't seem close enough to the Commuter Rail to make it worth it.

Maybe I shouldn't speak as I don't live there, but have patronized Tijuana's for years, since they were originally located near Union Square, and never feel unsafe eating there.

Chelsea Square is OK. Police Station is across the street.

Then again, it doesn't stop the junkies or hookers from hanging out in the park. Saw some chick give some skeevy guy a hand job right in the park across from the police station at 10am on a Saturday morning. Keeping in classy, Chelsea.

I live across the river, so don't have the full insider's perspective, but in traveling through often and frequenting some businesses around town, I don't feel like it's a place I'd like to be. Like any place, I'm sure it has it's ups and downs. There is a ton of culture there, some great restaurants, the developments mentioned below, and the cost of living is right. But in general, the city just looks so run down and sullen that it just hinders it so much.

I guess on the flip side, I heard a lot of negativity about Eastie when moving there in 2011, and until recently, never really heard or saw much of it actually happen, at least in my area of the neighborhood. So maybe I'm being a little unfair, but at the same time Cybah kind of confirms my thoughts.

Yes Chris.. and btw it's Kris (me).

I mean yeah I'm not thrilled with it, but it's comparable to parts of Boston. I've NEVER felt unsafe in Chelsea. Ever. But I can say that I've felt unsafe in parts of Boston. Its just disturbing that this crap keeps happening all within blocks of where I live. Its just un-nerving. That's all.

My whole thing is directive. Who are these attacks directed at? If its not random or a drive by, meh I don't care (I mean I do for the folks hurt, but as far as safety). But like the last one on Shawmut (which was directly behind my home), was a stray bullet. THAT scares me. I could be watching a rerun of Wings on my sofa, and next thing I know, I'm talking to St Peter at the gates, and I've become the next new story here on Uhub.

I could say the same for Eastie too. I've lived here in the area long enough to know Eastie isn't all that its cracked up to be. I'd say Eastie has a slight edge over Chelsea in terms of lower crime, but not by much. But I will say Eastie has come along way since I moved here in the 90s. I remember a time where you wouldn't walk much up eagle hill from Merdian in fear of getting mugged (had friends who lived in Eagle Hill, who got mugged twice in a year). And Day square.. sketchy.

Chelsea is the same. I work with a old time Chelsea resident, and he even says it's come a long way since the 90s and the days of receivership. But there's still work to do. I just hope that continues after Jay Ash's departure.

Thats the other problem with Chelsea, much of it has to do with city management. We've realized a long time ago its a push pull with the city. The city managers (and council members) have a fine line to walk along. Its hard to please both sides of people who live in Chelsea (the latino population and the rest of us), so its an hard balance.

I do think within the next few years Chelsea will become the next hot spot. Between the commuter rail station being moved, the Silver Line coming, and more complexes, hotels, and improvements coming (my street is getting a make over next year). Plus lots of money flowing into the coffers from new hotels, new tax payers, the FBI, and a few other up and coming sources.. things will change for the better. Plus as today's affordable communities like Somerville and East Cambridge become over priced and price many people out, Chelsea will be the next hot spot (along with Eastie, Medford, Everett, and Malden). It just takes time... but it's coming. This is why I stay.

a lot of great insight, and a great name! I've seen some small changes there over the past few years, but obviously don't stay up on what's happening like I do with Boston, particularly Eastie. I could see it being a big growth area, especially if transit options become more reasonable.

The stray bullet thing would scare the shit out of me too though, and the idea that I could be caught up in something just passing through at night does as well. I'm in a nice little pocket of Eastie that doesn't see much crime, but the latest happenings around the neighborhood lately haven't been THAT far from me, and I have admittedly been looking at options back across the harbor...but also at purchasing in Eastie and calling it home for a very long time. A lot of pros and cons to be weighed about getting in early, no?

Complexes are safe. Its about the only good thing going for Chelsea. If I was going to move again and stay in Chelsea, I'd move to a complex. Far better.

The neighborhoods.. meh. Anything north of 16 is fine. Washington Ave can be sketchy going toward Cary Square. And in town.. its hit or miss. The neighborhoods near Marginal Street are better than say where I live in Shurtleff-Bellingham, which is the pitts.

Admiral's Hill looks great (I've actually looked at a condo there), and I like some of the brick buildings around the bridge exit, but the fact that you can't traverse from the Chelsea side to the Navy Yard by foot is why I'd never seriously consider the area (and why it's probably never going to build up like, say, Jeffries Point or Assembly Row). Having bike and pedestrian access into the city would make it far more attractive to young professionals priced out of home ownership, but alas, that will probably never come to fruition.

I mean, come on, the Down Under the Mystic Bridge Overpass neighborhood would be a realtors' dream!

When the Tobin Bridge is ready for a re-do in... 50 years.. this will be added, along with dedicated bus lanes. Its needed.

I agree tho. When I was jogging outside, my jog always had to include a ride under the harbor to Maverick because "you can't get there from here" to Chelsea.

I've been in a funk for the past week since my offer on a condo in a row house on Beacon St in Chelsea was declined because I have two dogs. Guess I should be grateful. I've been all over Chelsea looking at condos and lofts and I really liked its hip, working class, but sort of skanky vibe. The people have been awesome and the restaurants warm, welcoming and delicious. Seems like everything you could possibly want is just a short walk away. I haven't traveled there late at night but I never felt unsafe during my jaunts. Then again, I'm a born and raised Dot Rat so it's all relative.4 shootings this year? Pffft...amateurs. ;)

Seriously, the older I get the more vulnerable I feel and growing up in the 'hood has taken its toll. I'd like to live in a safe place but I'm a city boy all the way and the 'burbs would suck the life out of me. So should I eliminate Chelsea altogether for now and see what happens down the road or as that an overreaction? Thanks for your insight! Stay safe.

I only lasted 1 1/2 years in my place on the corner of Beacon and Broadway. It was a beautiful building and was safe, but consider yourself lucky you couldn't buy it. The area was safe, but had a ton of issues:

  • Oil smell from the depot at the end of Broadway
  • 24-7 traffic from noisy oil tank tractor trailers
  • Salt blowing off the huge pile gets on your cars
  • Nowhere to walk of interest, restaurants nearby were mediocre
  • Constant streams of airport related traffic driving through (taxis, minibuses, etc)

So in summary nice people, safe environment, too much industrial garbage surrounding the community.

One of my friends lived at the Box District lofts. Her unit was GORGEOUS and way nicer than anything my partner and I could afford in Cambridge. We were considering moving there and ended up house sitting while she was away for a week and wow, at night it got SO SKETCHY. There were used syringes in the green space behind the building and creepy people lurking who definitely did not live there. My friend moved because she felt unsafe jogging in the early morning hours and just got sick of dealing with the area in general.

If Chelsea transforms into anything, I'm afraid it will be way more like South End (steeply overpriced new blocky 'loft style' apartments and a sharp divide between the very wealthy and the very poor and drug addicted) around the Boston Medical Center area than a nice, safe, and affordable community.

Damn shame, another life taken by gun violence in our state!

All lives matter!

When someone is convicted of firing a gun with proven intent to kill, or convicted of commiting murder,
*sentence them to jail and a work schedule to clean ER Trauma Units and work in a Morgue.
