Even in their affects, the candidates seem to be veering closer. Baker looks determined to ease back from the more combative posture that is his nature, while Coakley is struggling to dial things up beyond a just-the-fact mien that fits her prosecutor’s background, but isn't an asset in a candidate for governor. If the convergence continues, by November we may just be referring to the duo as "Chartha" or "Marlie."

But $500,000 would buy a fair number of ads with either some deep-throated man thundering about how Moulton eats live puppies for breakfast or some sneering woman disgustedly wondering when Moulton will stop eating live puppies for breakfast.

So WBUR decides a race is sleepy. Their reporting reflects it being sleepy. Then they report on people's reaction to it being sleepy. It's a fun loop!

It's only sleepy because the major media players decided it was sleepy. People don't care as the most outlets aren't reporting anything. Then the same media reports on people's apathy. They report no one cares about 3rd party candidates and then go on to never report anything about them.

The Globe and the local outlets are the worst. They drum up scare stories about Ebola then report about how people are scared about Ebola. The loop continues.

Next up, a lengthy series about how Americans are uninformed and apathetic about the news....
