Firefighters don't have far to go for Hyde Park blaze

UPDATE: Fire declared knocked down around 5 p.m.

Firefighters are at 7 Pierce St., battling what is now a two-alarm fire in the second floor and attic of a single-family house - which sits right across the street from the Hyde Park fire station.

Some firefighters went to the roof of the station with a hose to put water on the fire.

I bet they've always dreamed of being able to fight fires without leaving the firehouse.

I wonder how many times this has ever happened.
