The gangs of West Roxbury?

Sneakers hanging from a wire in West Roxbury

Who else would be so bold as to string some sneakers on a wire at Belgrade Avenue and West Roxbury, right around the corner from the E-5 station? Surely, this signals the return of gangs to the leafy neighborhood, no?

Who wanted to see if they could wrap a pair of sneakers around a wire?

Boots match the tree.

Never saw "sneakers" with lug soles like that.

Seriously?????? I live in Rosi, and see shoes on the lines and I seriously doubt that a "gang" is the way!!!!.....smh

I was just struck by sneakers hanging atop one of the neighborhood's busiest intersections.

ummm... this happened in my small NH hometown all of the time. Does anyone actually think this is a gang-related activity. Chill.

...tongue in cheek humor. Chill.

Sneakers on a wire means nothing. Growing up I lived near a sneaker outlet and nearby was a street that was festooned with old sneakers hanging from a wire across the road.

Also, ending your sentences with "no?" Just stop. It's the latest verbal virus going around and it must be stopped. It's pretentious-sounding and is, at least to me, even more annoying than starting a sentence with "so," though not quite as annoying as "right?" every fifth word.

... I've felt for a while now that the sentence, "Just stop." is a "verbal virus" that the comments section here could do with a little less of, no?

Not for nothin...
Just sayin'

At least the annoying and juvenile misuse of "fail" has gone away

Another one that needs to go is "amirite?". It's pretty annoying.

I agree. The worst is "hello". Whatever happened to "how do you do?" or other proper salutations? Our language is being poisoned by the imbeciles that write blogs and half-witted dolts that write in the comments, dontchaknow?

It's just so annoying. I can't even.

People, I strongly suspect Adam's post was tongue in cheek.

The number of commenters failing to recognize the joke may be the funniest thing about the post.

Okay, I am trying.

Which side of West Roxbury Parkway were the trainers on? Those could be a Roslindale gang there, pal.

Hanging right in the middle of the intersection, which is another interesting thing about them: Somebody had to stand in traffic, basically, to get those up there - or have an amazing arm and aim.
