You never know what you'll find for sale at the MIT Flea. Today, Turlach MacDonagh found this 1964 Gemini capsule, available for just $65,000.

I thought the skins were a titanium alloy. Was this just some sort of test prototype or training unit?

Yes, this is a mockup of a Gemini capsule; NASA made it (and probably others like it) for various testing and training purposes. IIRC this one was used to train Navy recovery crews.
Why not in an MIT quad?
MIT has bought some controversial sculptures for outdoor display, for more money than this, so why not put a piece of technological history on display?

ESTES Rockets!!!!!!
Using 50 D8-12s, maybe some B8-5s, or the classic C5-0 for your multi-stage needs.
Best time of my Middle School life!!!!
In "reality", you'll need some G-power for that thing!
Did the Gemini Capsule sell?
If so, when will it reappear on the Great Dome?
