The 1930's called. They want their appeasment back. Germany was not a threat. Hey, they only took the part of Czechoslovakia that was mostly German-speakers. Let 'em have it and they'll be happy and leave us alone.

That's what he said to Romney during the debates...that Russia was not a threat. Turns out, he may have been a bit off....not surprising.
We just expect you to keep
We just expect you to keep your promise. When Ukraine gave up it's nuclear bomb reserves (third biggest in the world), US was one of the countries that promised us safety and protection. Takes you a while to back your words with action. =(
Not sure about protection
I don't remember the safety and protection part but I do remember that they were guarnteed sovereignty. Also, Khrushchev gave Crimea to Ukraine.
Troops that were already
Troops that were already legally stationed there took control of key object to ensure safety and prevent provocations. I don't think that qualifies as invasion.
