The woman was probably off

The woman was probably off the train by this time. The photo was presumably taken by someone who didn't feel comfortable confronting a criminal by him or herself. Sorry we're not all as macho as you are, stud.

"Hey, that's not your wallet!

"Hey, that's not your wallet!" spoken loudly and clearly in a train car can have a good effect, and not be too "uncomfortable."

Wonder how that person would feel if someone didn't speak up about his/her wallet?

Well, next time you see

Well, next time you see something like this happen, I have no doubt that you'll respond in exactly that matter. As for this photo, we don't know who took it, or why they might not have felt comfortable doing the same, so let's be thankful that at least they got a photo of the perp.

This would be a great story

This would be a great story for "What Would You Do?"
I am surprised that no one said a word to him. Maybe there weren't many on the train?

Street smarts.... You need them in Boston.

Seen him by South Station

Panhandling. Asking for cigarettes, etc. Near Al's on South Street, Dewey, or the station itself.

I bet that nice institutional haircut will do him in.

Yep

Already did. Although I didn't see him there this morning.

FTR, the guy always acts nervous - darting glances, etc. He won't blend in.

Perception

By on

Too bad he wasn't black or a perceived aspiring rapper. If he were there would have been a different response-due to his perceived dangerous, sketchy look, garb etc.

...we'd still crack jokes about him.
