Man who killed ex-girlfriend, then locked her body in his room, gets life

Martin Jiminez of South Boston pleaded guilty today to bludgeoning Melissa Hardy to death in June, 2013, and was sentenced to life in prison, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.
Because he pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, Jiminez will be eligible for parole in 15 years.
According to prosecutors, Hardy had broken up with Jiminez, who had beaten her, the month before, but went to his room in an E. 4 St. rooming house to get some of her stuff. According to the DA's office:
Family members were not able to contact Hardy after that time and reported her missing to law enforcement. Boston Police officers on June 26 attempted to enter Jiminez’s apartment to perform a wellbeing check but found the door padlocked from the outside; they instead entered through a window to find Hardy dead from obvious trauma.
As her body lay behind the padlocked door, a Boston Police officer was doing an inspection of the rooming house, which had gone without a city license since 2011.
After he fled, Jiminez had been nabbed by State Police in Concord on an OUI charge - while driving a car belonging to one of Hardy's relatives. Troopers found him so drunk they took him to Emerson Hospital for treatment:
While hospitalized, Jiminez made statements to members of his family that he had killed Hardy with a bat and a hammer; a bat recovered at the scene of Hardy’s murder was found to have DNA matching that of the victim, as was the shirt Jiminez was wearing at the time of his arrest.
Kerry Kolditz was the DA’s assigned victim-witness advocate. Jiminez was represented by Michael Doolin.

Melissa was an amazing women beautiful family oriented. Her only mistake is trusting the wrong people n Jeminezed case the #DEVIL I still think about het n her son n the life she couldve had meanwhile this POS is eligible 4 parole i pray everyday this animal is never released from his cage. Hes in Punk City where he deserves 2 be i just hope some1 gives him what he deserves. I dont wish evil on anyone but he's nit human he took an absolutely beautiful intelligent so many good things I could say. GOD BLESS HER FAMILY MAY MR MARTY THE PUNK GETS WHAT HE DESERVES! RIP Melissa. They were Both Friends of mine and well liked
in the Community. The "Rape Case" that is mentioned in this,
was actually a incident of "Date Rape" Where all of the people involved
knew eachother, had history and
were highly intoxicatted on drugs and alcohol.
Does NOT justify
anything neither void out anything, but NOBODY is ever too far gone for
redemption.

Not saying anything about THIS particual case, but it is NOT
ALWAYS the MANS doing.
DRUG ABUSE is a HUGE PROBLEM in South Boston and Massachusetts.
There have been over 185 Drug related DEATHS in the state in a 6th month span.
With the GENTRIFICATION of South Boston and Boston as a whole,
The people caught up in between are left in the wreckage and debris.
The City is more concerned with fixing roads and the parking situation so they can sell
all the million dollar condos across the street from public Housing projects.
Then fixing the drug abuse problem they created in the first place to begin the "White Flight".
Without the "Desegregation" of public housing there was NO Herion!
Lets review all the "investment firms" who snapped up all the under valued city side/water front
propertys. In this "Little Gem" of a Town. In fact the building poor Melissa DIED in was owned
by one i speak of. This house was being USED as a "sober house" and of course was NOT
properly doing so. Why would they make an EFFORT, when all they were doing was holding onto the property until it went up MORE in value so they could make a "PROFIT".
Anytime "profit" is the intention you are going to have ABUSE.
Yet The point in the matter is drugs are NOT going away, whether its a sober house or not.
Whether your a middle class
girl who has a possessive Boyfriend, or a new transplant from Connecticut who makes 100k a year and has never seen a drug, this plaugue is going to effect you!
I always see the comments in storys like these and people are so QUICK to place blame,
but do they really care to understand the social dilemma that exsists in every single urban story of loss. whether it is the gang member shooting a inocent bystander in the streets or a woman being killed by her boyfriend there is much more to the storys then is talked about.
Do you think the drug companys would EVER allow a person to be found "not guilty" by reason of INSANITY. Because it is a FACT that Martin had been up for DAYS abusing the drug "Aderal". A drug that is highly prescribed to people with A.d.d., a.d.h.d ,etc.
In fact maybe some of your children are on it. The drug causes one a high similiar to Cocaine and ultimatley makes one DELUSIONAL to the point of psychosis. A Paranoia that would make one violent enough to cause physical harm to someone they are suposed to LOVE!
I guess i could sit here and write all day about social injustice- how bout i just make it simple!
NOBODY IS BEYOND REDEMPTION! The majority of the people YOU call to be locked up with the key thrown away WILL someday be set FREE and live right next door to you!
The question is, Do you want those people to recieve PROPER care and treatment or would you suggest we just electrucute them all when they fail time and time again without any care?
How bout we PREVENT Tragedies like these BEFORE they happen!

But which gets a news story at 7am, 12 noon, 5pm, 6pm, 10pm, and 11pm? Yes the car crash with video makes all the broadcasts, even if its just another elderly driver mistaking gas for brake and nobody got hurt. Totally distorts the dangers in life, Ebola risk in the US being an extreme example.
Drug companies are the dealers making hundreds of millions selling Oxy, Percs, and speed. Are they paying for treatment for those addicted as cigarette companies have been made to do? Not so much. People taking it may think Aderall doesn't make them crazy, but they haven't been up for days on end sleep deprived which is what makes people delusional. Be awake for that long no matter how (ie CIA torture) and people get delusional.

Sober House Murder
Marty Jiminez copped to A 2nd Degree Murder . Only Solace is that Melissa's Family, Son and a Community of Loving Friends Won't have to listen to what He Did to Her. I can't believe someone would defend his rape conviction as a date rape incident . This is even worse it points to the defects in his character that far back. His controlling personality that would make him have to drug a date, someone that he knew for Sex. He is a Coward. I really don't care if he was in an Adderall induced Psychosis or not , he was an abuser of women be it his fists, a date rape drug or OxyContin or whatever he felt like handing out . He set out to Murder Melissa on a cold and Premeditated manner
Because he's a worthless Coward❗️I hope he rots in Jail and than He Rots On HELL.

You should be ashamed of yourself he clearly had no problem abusing her before he killed her being on drugs is no excuse for murdering someone. Plenty of people abused drugs and don't murder people and you are still trying to downplay the Murder and the rape. You say he would never kill anyone but you are wrong he did. A drug can't make you do something like that you do that because you have it in you which she clearly did by the abuse to her beforehand again you should be ashamed of yourself for downplaying what happened to this poor girl and his other victims I just pray her family doesn't read what you wrote.
