The temporary cessation of the parking ban frees up overnight patrol resources to oppress our nocturnal liberation activities.

On the Western Front during WW1.

This may cut into Bill O'Reilly's War on Christmas revenue stream, if word gets out.

Brookline does this for most major family holidays (that non-coincidentally reduce demand for parking for business districts). It was true on Thanksgiving, New Year's Eve, and even the Jewish High Holidays and Passover (try explaining to the suburban extended family they can't park their fleet of SUVs outside your condo for Seder!).
