The Boston City Archives has begun digitizing its collection of photos of Boston Elevated Railway photos, including a set showing construction of the North Station/Lechmere section, such as this photo of Haymarket Square on March 24, 1909.

I feel like the guy in the light-colored suit is Hugh Nawn, the main contractor for many of Boston's early transit projects. Note the Boston & Northern trolley approaching the track gang. A so-called "foreign car" using the subway!

Several photos in there of the closed Pleasant Street incline where the abandoned Boylston Street tunnel leads to. Eliot Norton Park and the Church of All Nations sits on loose fill there.
