Nurses sue over Radius hospital closings
By adamg on Fri, 09/26/2014 - 7:25am
The Massachusetts Nurses Association yesterday sued Radius Specialty Hospitals over the short notice given workers that its long-term care hospitals in Roxbury and Quincy are closing.
In its lawsuit, filed in US District Court, the union says Radius did not give workers 60 days notice of the shutdown, as required by federal law.

Roxbury location was Jewish Memorial Hospital until recently
which was the last vestige of the time when Roxbury was a primarily Jewish neighborhood.
Still other vestiges if you look closely
Isn't there a church on Blue Hill Avenue that still has a large Star of David window up near the roof from the days when it was a synagogue?
And let's not forget Jewish War Veterans Drive in Franklin Park.
How can you forget
Simcos. My grandfather was in the BPDs homicide unit during the Jewish exodus out of the city. And from the stories and pictures i'v seen (He always carried a second camera), you really cant blame them for leaving.
G&G
Isn't "G&G" still inscribed in tile in the sidewalk outside the BHA hardware store that used to be the deli?
First Haitian Baptist Church
On Blue Hill with the onion domes and Stars of David. Also, the engravings on United House of Prayer All for People and the apartment block behind it that remind one of the property's former occupant, Mishkan Tefilah.
You don't have to squint hard to see Roxbury's Jewish past.
I should have said "last operating vestige"
i.e., a business or institution that was still in business there with a Jewish name or heritage. You're right that there are still plenty of architectural signs of the area's Jewish history.
