Roslindale mugging victim grateful for neighbors

RozzieGirl123 reports she was the woman mugged near the commuter-rail station last night and describes the attack and aftermath:

Despite this terrible thing that happened, I have never been more proud to live in Roslindale/Boston than I did last night. After the man came after me with the knife and I started screaming, perfect strangers came running out of their houses to chase the guy. Two wonderful guys named Tim and Ricky chased him for 2 blocks and stayed out with me for hours with the police. Ricky did not have a coat on nor did he shoes on! He stood with me barefooot until the cops came, at least 20 minutes. The police were wonderful. Kind, compashionate and thorough.

First, I am delighted to hear that you are okay and that people seemed to do the right thing.

Be mindful of what you say on here and elsewhere though! Your comments will be used by the defense attorney in an attempt to get the kid off!!!

if, for some reason, there are conflicting reports by the same person or if some other issue arises in statements made by an individual that differ from the original police report that any capable lawyer can find thanks to google, said legal representative will shoot down the credibility of the victim and the validity of the police report.

I thought about that and it is a good point. The point was not to describe the details of the attack, but the goodness of the people that helped. And that Rozzie is a little bit safer tonight.

The guy stayed with me for 20 minutes until things got settled. The police were there in under 5 minutes.

Maybe you need to buy him a big pair of fuzzy slippers!

That's what neighbors do. If you see something like this going on, you lend a hand - that is what defines a good neighborhood.
