In Somerville, power goes out from Assembly Row to Winter Hill, where a boom was heard

UPDATE, 5:47 p.m.: Spirits in Black reports the lights are back on at Assembly Row, but that traffic remains a mess.

Around 5:15 p.m., Jackie Geilfuss reported the power was out at Assembly Row - including the lights at Assembly Row and Rte. 28.

People are stuck in elevators.

Around 5:30, NPW reported:

Heard a big boom, now no power in Winter Hill. Transformer? Accident?

At 5:40 p.m., NStar's outage map showed 4,962 customers without power in Somerville.

As I was passing the USS Constitution at the time, I simply wondered why they were shooting off the cannons earlier than usual ... and only one of them!

At least the street lights were on by the time I got to Assembly Row around 5:55.
