I don't know whose side I'm on, the people who are freaked out by turkeys or the turkeys but what the po-po are doing to that turkey seems a bit mean. That carrier is much too small for that bird. I really hope that the fowl's legs weren't twisted or his/her (?) feathers or wings weren't damaged while the police crammed the bird into that carrier.
Kelli O'Hara is standing at the corner of Greenough and Lowell streets. That's Brookline High behind her. I grew up four houses down, and we only started to see turkeys in the last decade or so. Yes, there is some over reaction involved, but they're big birds, and really unexpected in that area. And you think they panic about the turkeys; I can just just imagine what the neighbors would do if they realize there were also foxes wandering around!
2 years ago, there were turkeys roaming around back yards and even intersections in South Boston. At first they would run if people approached but after a while they acted pretty friendly and were even being hand fed by some neighbors. But that was South Boston. Maybe the Brookline turkeys are more hostile to people there because they don't like liberals..

oh come on
When a turkey comes into the yard, I have to creep up on it just to get a photo. Then it runs like hell.
I suspect it's overactive imaginations that are terrorizing the hood.
Really?
It's pretty well-known that turkeys will come after dogs and cats. I've had it happen to me.
Really?
Are you a dog or cat?

Ain't no cavalry comin' to save you
It figures that the imperialist media would insist on calling our struggle to liberate our occupied ancestral homelands terror!
FIGHT THE POWER!

turkey carrier
If this picture is from last year (the last time animal control captured one) they broke its wing stuffing it in and the turkey had to be put down.

November should be Turkey history month.
What is it about Brookline
that turns turkeys psycho?
Maybe
the pernicious level of passive aggressive behavior among many human Brooklineites?
