Thanksgiving came to a crashing end in Somerville

Aram Boghosian photographed the SUV that plowed into the Brass Union in Union Square shortly before 11 p.m. on Thursday.

That building is really hard to see, it should be adorned with a reflective vest, nothing the driver could have done.

When all those Livable Streets communist socialists close off a complete clusterfuck of a redundant roadway to FREELY FLOWING TRAFFIC and make a parking area with a dead end. Motorists get confused - especially if they are drunk and/or stupid! It really isn't fair!

It would be much easier for motorists to zoom through Union Square in Freely Flowing Traffic(tm) and ignore the local businesses on their way to I-93 if they would just stop creating parking from useless roads!

Yes we totally need to make the roads safer for drunk drivers. The roads are just not fair for them.

Right next to a chiropractor? I smell a publicity stunt.

in this Reddit post.

Looks like the car was going west on Washington Street (coming from the Sullivan Sq direction), missed the left turn towards Somerville Ave by the old post office, and just kept barrelling straight through the parking lot into the plaza beyond.

at around 12:00 a. m., I saw a whole bunch of police cars in Somerville's Union Square, with their beacons flashing and everything. Is the big crash what it was all about? I guess so.

In any case, Union Square looked like a total mess, and I was happy to avoid it.
