Train gives up the ghost; riders' mornings are toast

Unlucky Worcester Line riders, specifically those on the 582 and 506 trains, were not happy campers when they finally pulled into South Station this morning. Dave reports the 582, which had a locomotive that expired mid-route, was an hour and 47 minutes late, while the 506, which was hitched up to the 582 to push it into town, was 53 minutes late.

To add insult to injury, he reports the mega-train got passed on the way into South Station by the 508, which means he would have saved time by taking the later train, which arrived earlier than his (although still later than scheduled).

After CD, also on the dead train, vented his frustration from his seat, around 7:15 a.m., MBCR replied:

Train is on move, not cause for celebration, but best available solution. Thanks for your patience.
