For some odd reason the city has never put any kind of plaque where his Boston apartment building once stood. The building on Mass Ave was destroyed by arson in the 1980s.

The building still stands, a couple of doors away from the Mass. Ave. Orange Line station. And it has a plaque on it. The last time I was there, some of the landscaping had grown taller and was starting to obscure the plaque, but it is there and readable. I believe the building is now owned by a nonprofit and rented out as affordable housing.

The building on Northampton Street, where he and Coretta moved after their marriage, was demolished many years ago and the site is now occupied by a park.

When MLK first arrived in Boston, he lived for a few months on St. Botolph Street. That building is still standing but there is no marker.

I'm aware of two buildings where Coretta lived as a student, before she married Martin; both are still standing but neither has a marker. One is on Chestnut Street on Beacon Hill; the other is on Massachusetts Ave., Chester Square in the South End.
