You can save a space in Boston until 8 a.m. on Friday

The city is lifting the snow emergency at 8 a.m., which lets you be lord of all you shovel for 48 more hours, since Marty Walsh kept Tom Menino's space-saver rule.

Shovel what?

At least in the north side of Boston there is literally no snow on the streets. There was 3 inches on my car and the plow piles are about an inch high. The snow I brushed off my car will be gone by noon - not sure what they are using to melt the snow but it works at 10 degrees.

I think they used the entire season's supply of road salt in one night last night.

With the way the wind blew, one side of my lot has practically nothing, but the other side (where all the cars are) has a few inches. Enough that I had to push it out of the way this morning. It's also the side the plows decided to push the snow.

Anyone who saves a spot after this fart of a snow storm is just being selfish. Here in Charlestown it's a glorified dusting.

Good thing nobody in Boston would ever consider being selfish about a parking space.
