$100,000 bail for alleged triple kid stabber in Hyde Park who asked police to kill him

After stabbing his girlfriend's children - 15, 11 and 9 - on Saturday, Rock Aurelian of Hyde Park allegedly demanded one of the first officers on the scene shoot him dead.

The cop refused and Aurelian was arraigned in West Roxbury Municipal Court today on three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and armed assault with intent to murder for the River Street attacks, from which officials say the three victims will recover.

[Assistant District Attorney Amy] Martin told the court that Boston Police responded to 1608 River St. for a report of a person stabbed at approximately 12:15 a.m. Saturday. While en route, officers were flagged down in the area of River Street and Hillis Road and observed the three victims – a 15-year-old female, an 11-year-old male, and a 9-year-old male – on the sidewalk, each bleeding from multiple stab wounds. Officers learned that the victims had been stabbed by Aurelian, who was known to them as a friend of their family. Officers were provided with a description of the assailant, prosecutors said.

The victims were rushed to Boston Medical Center for treatment. Two of the victims suffered injuries severe enough that Boston Police Homicide Unit detectives were notified; however, all three victims are now expected to survive.

Aurelian was observed by an officer on patrol in the area of Sunnyside Avenue. He allegedly held his hand behind his back, motioning as though pulling out a weapon, and repeatedly yelled at the officer to shoot him, Martin said. Aurelian continued to come toward the officer, who was able to maintain a safe distance until additional officers arrived on scene and helped subdue Aurelian.

During his arrest, Aurelian allegedly made post-Miranda statements, “I did it… I planned this all along. I wanted you to kill me.”

Innocent, etc.

Must be hard to deal with someone unstable who's trying suicide-by-cop, and end it without either person getting shot/stabbed.

"however, all three victims are now expected to survive": great news!

"River Street attacks, from which officials say the three victims will recover": how does one recover from this?...what a nightmare.

Not that it matters, but the ADA says the stabbings occurred "at approximately 12:15 a.m.", the Herald says "just before 1 p.m."
