Brighton murder suspect says he didn't do it

Gammada Musa, 25, of Brighton, was ordered held without bail at his arraignment today on charges he gunned down Desmond Joseph as Joseph was loading a baby stroller into the back of a car on Telford Street late on Oct. 22.

Although a not-guilty plea would have been automatically entered for him, Musa declared his innocence from behind a door, where he stood, rather than in the prisoner dock.

Musa, who has a long criminal record, returns to court on Thursday, where he was scheduled for arraignment on motor-vehicle charges unrelated to Joseph's murder.

His mother and sister sat on one side of the courtroom. Joseph's family and friends sat on the other. Court officers stood between the two sides.

Innocent, etc.

Did Musa say he didn't do it, or plead not guilty?

(There are a lot of reasons to be found Not Guilty, only one of which is you didn't do it)
