Props to the Brookline PD for making an arrest and not covering up for their fellow uniform.
I hope that "administrative leave" does not include pay or duties that have any impact on the public. If he's vindicated in court, then by all means, here's your back pay. But it doesn't seem likely.
But only makes the news if someone actually tells the news that the arrestee is a cop/firefighter/politician/etc. Not always news worthy if a State Street Bank employee beats up a man outside a restaurant. If no one told the media that the defendant was a firefighter, I bet this wouldn't have made the news.
And the police will almost never "cover up" a crime if there is a real victim involved. Really the only thing cops and firefighters can get away with is drunk driving if they are pulled over (which is pretty serious).
And this firefighter will be paid until he is fired/suspended.

We need to do something to
We need to do something to combat the rampant mental illness in MA
Just because someone likes
Just because someone likes beans and rice inside the burrito, that doesn't make them mentally ill.
We're talking about the popularity of mission burritos, yes?
That's what Australia said
That's what Australia said about the criminal element and started a country. But we already have a state... :)

Stories like this not
Stories like this not involving cops or firefighters make Uhub all the time.
Yea but there were probably 10 violent assaults yesterday...
The news usually shows these ones. Many times they would only know about them if they heard the scanner or requested the report.
