DA: Now enough evidence to charge alleged body disposer with murder

Carlos Colina will be arraigned on a charge of murder Tuesday for the death of a man found in several pieces in two locations on Sunday, the Middlesex County District Attorney's office reports.

Colina had been charged on Monday with aggravated assault and battery and improper disposal of a body related to the death of Jonathan Camilien, 26, of Somerville. He is currently being held in lieu of $1 million bail.

Innocent, etc.

One commenter stated they know his mom well in Bowdoinham, that she has been trying to get him help for diagnosed schizophrenia since he was a teenager. Laws make it very difficult to do things like force him to take antipsychotic meds, etc.He has a criminal history in Maine from his teen years, including animal abuse (he repeatedly stabbed a dog), trespassing, something to do with indecency, not clear.

He apparently is very intelligent, did very well in H.S., graduated with honors.

I bet if he had criminal background checks done down here in MA, his Maine history wouldn't show up.

Disconnected from reality, it appears -- hence his striking question to the police. Tragic.

or if they were "continued without a finding", they wouldn't show up on ANY criminal background check.

I mean, other than give you goodfeely tingles? It isn't like we have a border patrol.

It would be nice when doing a background check for employment, housing, etc. you can find out who was arrested for public indecency, stabbing a dog, being treated for schizophrenia or having been previously treated, etc., I mean, you know, so you can make a more informed judgment call (there....I said it!).

Guys like him should be forcibly locked up (humanely, of course) in a psych facility where he would be far less of a danger to others. And if he legitimately is diagnosed as being schizophrenic, he should be forced by the courts to take antipsychotic meds. He should not have been in 'the community'. Neither should the obviously seriously mentally ill folks I see on the streets everyday, many so ill and paranoid / scared, they'll stay outside in terrible weather rather than go to a shelter. Suppose I can't really blame them there, most shelters are horrible places.

And I suppose at the end of the day, it comes down to some people with goodfeely tingles regarding seriously disturbed mentally ill people and their 'freedom' to live and die on the streets.

Which is basically your FBI/NCIC criminal background database. You need a special reason and have special access though to get that information.
