Dedham house fire kills one

The Dedham Fire Department reports a fire called in around 5:30 this morning at 22 Harding Terr. left a woman dead.

A Dedham firehouse is located nearby, and Dedham Engine 3 was on scene within minutes, with fire showing upon arrival.

Two residents had self-evacuated and had sustained minor injuries. They told firefighters that there was an additional resident trapped inside.

Firefighters made entry into the home and located the resident, a woman in her 50s, on the second floor of the two-story, single-family house. She was taken to Norwood Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The other two residents were treated for minor injuries at area hospitals.

Three firefighters suffered minor injuries, the department says.
