As family, friends mourn Zachary Pinnick, residents plan to greet young students who had to walk by his body

Pinnick

Family members and friends are remembering Zachary Pinnick, who died in an early morning shooting on Holworthy Street.

Meanwhile, organizers of the effort to greet Boston school students on their first day at school are planning a visit tomorrow to the nearby Trotter School so that students there get to see smiling faces.

As police investigated Pinnick's death, his body lay under a tarp this morning as Trotter students and young Holworthy Street residents passed by. The Herald interviewed Holworthy Street residents.

Pinnick, whom police said was in his 30s, leaves three young children - a son and two daughters.

https://mobile.twitter.com/pinnickzachary - definitely more of the same.

"This life I chose might be the death of me, I just hope my killer ain't standing next to me" - apparently he was after all.

So how do you know that what he wrote on twitter wasn't part of a song? And actually it doesn't matter what he put it up their for, mind your fucking business that's part of the problem people not minding there own business. I didn't know him at all but im definitely not gonna just sit back while your faggot ass throws dirt on a dead mans name.

That's not the problem. Quite the contrary, people "minding their own business" when they witness those things is the problem. Well, and you - you're definitely a part of the problem

The thought of those kids walking past that tarp on their way to school yesterday morning breaks my heart. I cannot imagine what his own three children & loved ones are feeling in these terrible days-after.

Kudos to those compassionate community members who are out there this morning for our kids. We can't control the violent actions of other people, no matter how much we'd like to. But to be out there showing love & support for each other when it matters most makes a real difference. Kids need adults around them to demonstrate our highest values, every day. Knowing there's comfort & support in the neighborhood, shining from faces you know or those might again recognize tomorrow - that shows another path, higher values, and strength in community. And it shows hope.

We never know when our neighbors will need us most. When we come through for each other at times like this, bearing witness to each others' grief & confusion, a community's strength & hope radiates into the future. It can pull someone through despair even if a neighbor isn't standing beside them at every dark moment.

Bravo, neighbors. Peace & love to our children. And comfort to those who are mourning the loss of Zachary from our world.

Please try to get shot some place out of sight so neighborhood kids don't get traumatized by your bullet-ridden carcasses. And, to all the armchair social justice warriors about to come out of the woodwork with racist labels ready, go check out this fine young lad'd twitter account.

How dare you come on here with your heartless insensitive remarks, your mother clearly raised you in an enclosed environment such as a trailer park. This man, father, son, uncle, brother, friend was a great person who could bring the beat out of anyone. He did not deserve why happened to him, and you have the audacity to post that disrespectful Sh-- that bs remark about being shot somewhere so the kids wouldn't see it smfh, how about you go down there and at it, it's easy when you're behind an anonymous name.... You're a heartless coward!

I did not know this guy, but know a good amount of people who did know him. By all accounts, he was said to be a good person. He has a mother and children. You are atrocious......your words.....your point of view...all of it. You are a pretty despicable being. I will stop short of saying human being, because no one would speak of loss of life in the manner in which you did can be considered anything but a sociopath. Yeah, you are not okay.
