Globe to move presses, trucks to Taunton
By adamg on Fri, 02/06/2015 - 1:16pm
The Boston Business Journal reports on the deal; adds the Globe was looking to rent at first but that landlords wanted a premium because of concerns the paper could survive in the long term.
Moving the Globe from its current Morrissey Boulevard digs would clear the way for John Henry to sell off that land for big bucks for some giant development.

I think you may have parsed
I think you may have parsed it wrong. #DREWSTAR
I did indeed
Incorrect parsing fixed; the Globe is buying, not renting.
Where's the rest of the staff going?
Did I miss an announcement on where the rest of the operation is moving to? Newest thing I can find is this, with three possible locations.
Moving out of Boston
So will the Boston Globe follow the Patriots' lead and become the New England Globe once they move out of town?
This is just the printing presses
I doubt the Globe would ever move their offices to a location outside the city.
So perhaps ...
... future Olympic venue?
Maybe?
Boston 2024 is proving very flexible about its land needs - so maybe they'll work out a deal with Henry rather than simply ramming through legislation letting them take land from land owners whose land they currently show as being part of the Olympic village even though they've yet to indicate they want to sell.
