My favourite part is this clown's rigorously delusional defense of his actions - stating that his stunt was safer than riding a bike or walking the streets of the city because he was somehow in control of the laws of physics and nothing could have possibly gone wrong.

I am not completely agreeing with him, but consider something like ski jumping. Ski jumping is safer than biking in a city (I haven't looked up stats for this, but I'm am quite certain it is correct). When somebody ski jumps they spend a lot of time practicing and only do it in a controlled environment. On the road, there are hundreds of people that are not paying attention to your well being.

Now, this is not as controlled an environment as a ski jump, but it is definitely more controlled than the road. More goes into deciding which is safer, but it isn't as black and white as it seems. I used to dirt jump and DH mountain bike. All of my serious(ish) injuries were biking on the road in the city.

Fascinating, impressive, and extraordinarily stupid. I watched it several times in a row. Sent it to my dad and he thought it was cool. He said he and his friends used to do some proto-version of parkour in the 50s that involved hopping from roof to roof of triple deckers in Dorchester.
