JP pulls ahead in the space-saver wars

Ryan Hamilton Walsh thinks this is a winner, and we'd be hard pressed to disagree.

That contraption is screaming to get buried in snow then stuck in someone's snow blower then causing small claims court appearnces to obtain damages.

I think it might attract pigeons, and it is only a matter of time until a disgruntled citizen installs some of these to repel them.

Or similarly douchebag as counter-douchebag activity. After all, any damage would be blamed on the first douchebag is somebody legally accessed the illegally saved spot, right?

I really despise space savers, but sometimes I just love people.

Happy snowstorms everybody.

It's dangerous just driving in this snow, I saw at least 3 people today texting while driving in snow, how fucked up is that.
People should be careful while walking in the street, and look out for these careless drivers.

The types who text and drive are the same who complain about bad drivers. Not referring to you, but I love hypocrites. They make me laugh.

Any spot marked with a jerk's space saver should have the snow dumped in it from everyone else shoveling out the rest of the spots on the street.

What is that red thing?? If I passed it, I would be sorely tempted to take it, not to make any statement about space savers but just.. who _wouldn't_ want a rotating red f-off thingamawhatsit?! This is a great business opportunity. Does it spout steam? That would be the best.

Bet it has batteries inside. I could use free batteries.

this person is eating way to much locally sourced food.

Even at this early stage of the storm those things must already be covered with snow and will be driven over. Not even particularly impressive as performance art. Fail.

It doesn't really look like they shoveled.

What is the space for, a tricycle? Looks like that's all it would fit. Snow everywhere except around the prop.

I appreciate your comment earlier about the pickup truck vs. Prius perception in Dedham. Similarly here, if this was done by someone in South Boston or in parts of Neponset or Brighton, these boards would be slamming this thing as a tool of lunkhead behavior. Done by someone from JP, oh how cute.

The creativity would win out. But Southie tends to stick to the tried-and-true: Buckets, empty cases of beer, the odd ironing board, etc. Boring. And as you'll see from my most recent parking post, JP is getting right up there in viciousness.

Only the people with the top 10 most creative space savers get to keep their spots. City-wide.

Everyone else has to keep on diggin. Let's reward actual work (either manual or intellectual.)

It is brilliant... it's cute.. performance art in a way...

but just one problem. IT'S NOT "YOUR" SPACE!

Public property!

There is a space on Comm Ave with two yellow signs tied to a tree and just shoved in the snow. They both read: "this space for ADDRESS or emergency vehicles only".

I love the idea that instead of a space saver, they just put in a new street sign to reserve the space. Then I also love the idea that they needed to tell people that it is okay if emergency vehicles park there or that emergency vehicles might not have parked there unless they declared it on their signs.
