Nice now he knows next time he can get off thanks to a "clever" judge being lenient as can be. Good job

In a lot of places and in the federal courts you can put up your house as bond. The vast majority of folks involved in the criminal justice system are indigent and do not own real estate, however. They might have a clunker of a car but that's about it. Why not let them pledge what "asset" they might have -- a pair of expensive sneakers, a fancy phone, or jewelry -- as an inducement to make sure they return to court? (And before you knowitalls chime in about consumer goods not actually being "assets," save the lecture; these folks don't have investment accounts and second homes and boats). Of course I can see the courts scrambling to figure out how they'd keep track of all the stuff.

What's that, it was a driving infraction? Let's cut his hands off and/or gouge his eyeballs out!

I remember this story next time I called for Jury Duty.

Guilty, ya Honor, we recommend a fine of three Air Jordans, pair of British wingtips and a set of flip flops from Wal-marts
