Latest round of commuter rail restorations

we are all set to host the Olympics, aren't we?
Six or seven weeks after a snowstorm, we're almost back to 80% rail service?
Takes an hour do drive the SE Expressway on a normal Tuesday, so adding a few million travelers should be cake, right?

What world do these politicians live in? Not ours....

Second week running with no trains restored to the Needham line. Let the Thunderdome of the 7:30 from Needham hts continue!

Did they forget that the Needham Line exists? WTF? Maybe when I go to Back Bay tonight I can ask them if they are ever going to put the 711am train at Bellevue back.

Not really a surprise that no Needham line service was restored. Even during better conditions (last Fall, before the snow) Keolis had pretty much abandoned the Needham line. During morning rush hour, every seat was taken and people were jammed in, side-by-side down every aisle, right out into the vestibules between the cars. They did everything except have people sitting on the roof (not to give them any ideas...)

Since the aisles were completely packed, conductors were usually unable to collect any fares and apparently Keolis didn't care.

Repeatedly, the conductors themselves would urge us passengers to contact Keolis and tell them about the lousy conditions, claiming that Keolis just ignores feedback from employees but might listen to passengers.

One last rant: as always, there was only one conductor on the evening Needham line coming home from work this week. So passengers were running along the aisles, searching for the single open door and yelling for the conductor to hold it until they got there. And once again, no fares were collected! Why is there always a shortage of conductors if they're only running a reduced number of trains?
