So that's what I heard this morning! I'm about 4-5 blocks from this house. Heard the strike shortly after 9am. I guess it took a little while for the fire to kindle. Hope the residents will be okay.

The loudest thunder strike I had ever heard; sounded like a cannon had gone off outside my closed windows! I thought for sure someone had set off some commercial grade fireworks outside my house, until I heard the recognizable echo of the thunder.

I heard that huge boom and assumed there was lighting as well. Was home alone and wanted to hide under the bed as old as I am.

When I went out about an hour or so later walked around the corner and saw the police, fire trucks and ambulances outside. When I came home a little while ago I saw the damage to the top floor of the house along with all of the pink insulation all over the porch and ground in front.

So terrible, but glad no one was hurt. Hopefully their insurance gets them a speedy payment and that the family/families affected will be ok.
