Milton man convicted of stabbing two, slashing at third in Theater District fight

Njisane Chambers, 28, of Milton, faces at least five years in state prison for stabbing two people and trying to slice up a third outside the Rumor and Venu nightclubs on June 17, 2014.

A Suffolk Superior Court jury found Chambers guilty of three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon earlier this week. Because they also found him to be a repeat offender on a charge of carrying a dangerous weapon, he will get, at a minimum, a five-year sentence, at his Nov. 16 sentencing, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

According to the DA's office:

Chambers was arrested at the scene after Boston Police officers on-hand for the nightly "let out" of area clubs spotted him fighting with one of the male victims while the female victim lay on the pavement of Tremont Street. The knife was recovered at the scene.

Thanks for digging up that history.

Assuming this is the same guy, that's:

06: Pointing an illegal gun at police
08: Assault & Battery
14: Drug

If Mass really has the toughest gun laws around, why oh why is this guy on the street?

You'd think that pointing a 357 magnum at the BPD would be enough of indicator that all future crimes be sentenced on the higher end of the sentencing window.

Garbage.

You'd think that pointing a 357 magnum at the BPD would be enough ....

This is one case where society would have been better off if our cops would have responded the way most cops respond when getting a gun pointed at them.
