Hope that little cutie is rescued soon... don't think he could survive a Boston winter.

There used to be posts on UHub of a flock of parrots surviving on their own. Early posts was around East Boston. Haven't seen a posts in years and never got to see them myself. Are they still around? Or did they got wiped in one of the winters?
Those parrots survive the winter....
... because they live in big communal (bird) apartment buildings -- where they generate a lot of warmth to be shared by all.
The giant complex (that lasted many years) in a park near our condo in Chicago (long ago) was supposedly dismantled (and the birds destroyed) by order of the Dept of Agriculture (not sure whether state or federal), because it was feared these would spread into farmland -- where this sort of parrot is considered a noxious, food-stealing pest.
So how about Boston....
So did that East Boston one got dismantled? The famous one in San Francisco continue to exist just fine and I believe they got a lot more agriculture going.
The East Boston nest is still
The East Boston nest is still there near Airport station but no birds. The birds survived at least one winter a couple of years ago, but disappeared in the spring or summer. I'm no birder, but I read that sometimes they will abandon the nest if there are parasites and move elsewhere.
I've seen
Parrots/parakeets in San Francisco in 2013 (Telegraph Hill) and 2014 (near Fort Mason.)
That said, the weather there is very different than the weather here.

Quaker parrots are going to have a better chance of surviving than a parakeet.
In '95 I found a parrot in my driveway, obviously an escaped pet. We could never find his owner, and he ended up living with us.
In Allston...
There are a few (at least two) that live around Ringer Park in Allston. I thought they were lost pets, but other Uhub'ers told me that they live outside in the summer and indoors in the winter. Sometimes you'll see them on the light signal at Gordon/Cambridge. This little guy looks a lot cleaner than those ones, so prob not part of the flock. Hope it makes it back home.
