One stray capital letter and every Zbigniew and Tadeusz in town would be a suspect.

I wonder how sick she is of hearing the jokes.

Okay, I don't get it. Can someone explain to me why such a thing would exist?

Supplying it to nail places, maybe? Seems an odd thing to steal en masse

It comes in small packages that are easy to steal, and retails for pretty expensive money.

"Each year, organized groups of professional shoplifters steal or fraudulently obtain billions of dollars in retail merchandise," says the Government Accountability Office, which released a report on the epidemic last June. Criminals tend to pilfer products that are small and expensive -- razor blades, infant formula, gift cards, teeth whitening products, cosmetics, and over-the-counter medications, for instance.

Long before the days of self service supermarkets and stores. You went to a counter and asked for all your stuff and they got it to you. Maybe it's time to move back to that?

(I agree, it's annoying and almost sad)

It is a major ordeal to buy razor blades. One has to get them from behind a locked case, or a case that is made extremely difficult to extract anything from. Lights flash, loudspeakers announce someone is in the "shaving needs" department, and all heads turn. Some Walgreens actually have an employee walk you from the shaving department to the checkout with your blades.

I was at a bar on Dot Ave last year, a guy came in with a duffle bag full of hot razor blades. He was selling them for short money. This is why we can't have nice things!

Shaves better than those fancy expensive multiblade razors, and blades are only 10 cents a piece.

Nice weight, high style, good shave, inexpensive and environmentally friendly. I honestly don't know why people use disposables. Fancy vintage ones go for big bucks on eBay but there are many options.

"Safety razors" are the disposable ones...
