Quincy livery driver found guilty of kidnapping, raping passenger in South Boston
A Suffolk Superior Court jury today found Said Said, 41, guilty of kidnapping, raping and robbing a woman passenger he picked up in the Seaport in 2014, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.
Jurors agreed with prosecutors that Said, also known as Hashi K. Said, of Quincy, was driving around the South Boston waterfront in his minivan when he was flagged down outside 270 Northern Ave. by a woman shortly after midnight on June 22, 2014.
With the victim inside the vehicle, the evidence proved, Said drove to a deserted location - believed to be near the South Boston postal facility - where he sexually assaulted her. The victim testified that she fought back. Said then stole the victim’s iPhone, debit and credit cards, and cash before driving her to the area of 120 State St. The victim fled the vehicle and was transported to Boston Medical Center. ...
Hours later, Said used the victim’s debit and credit cards to make purchases at a Quincy gas station and Dorchester pharmacy, where he was captured in store surveillance images.
Said is scheduled for sentencing Oct. 1., the DA's office reports.

Must have been an Uber driver
If only Uber were regulated, these things wouldn't happen!
No, he wasn't an Uber driver
He just happened to have livery plates on his minivan.

I'm going to blame the internet for not properly conveying my tongue-in-cheek sentiment in my original comment. Not one, but two, corrections!
Yeah, I got it
But I also get the idea that somebody will Google Uber and some sexual crime and wind up here and, not knowing the background of the case, start pointing to this as proof of Uber's awfulness or something.
Glad There Was More Evidence Than Just: She Said, Said Said Said
