Ready for Thanksgiving in Roslindale

Dog as Pilgrim and turkey

There's this house on Robert Street in Roslindale that has a concrete dog statue outside (to go with their concrete lion statues, of course). She's raring to go for the upcoming holiday.

I always get a chuckle when I go by this house - they add a bit of whimsy to the day! When the dog isn't dressed for a holiday, he's wearing the appropriate sports gear for the season, such as his Pats shirt and hat. Thanks for the day brightener folks.

These guys are awesome, they decorate 'em each month to fit whatever is current or relevant in culture.

... was kind of creepy -- but the Pilgrim doggie is darling.

I wonder what the roving neighborhood turkeys think...

It's nice that they even acknowledged Thanksgiving and didn't jump straight to Christmas like the rest of the country seems to have done. As usual.

The ignorance of your post is amazing. Seriously mind boggling.

I also like the use of the word "glorify" to describe a lonesome lawn ornament in kitschy pilgrim garb.

There are no bad dogs, only bad humans. Pit bulls are loyal, loving dogs - and they're physically powerful. If they're trained to think that the best way to please their human is to behave aggressively, that's what they'll do. I can tell you, however, as the former owner of a pittie, that they're more than capable of being the sweetest little dogs you could ever hope to meet. As soon as I'm able to adopt another dog, you better believe I'll be looking for a pit bull.

(I realize it's pointless to engage, but I do feel obligated to speak up on behalf of pit bulls.)

First it was Doberman's, then German Shepherds, then Rottweiler's and now it's the Pittie. It's never the suck ass humans though.

First they came for the Dobermans, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Doberman.
Then they came for the German Shepherds, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a German Shepherd.
Then they came for the Rottweilers, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Rottweiler.
Then they came for the pit bulls, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a pit bull.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Its definitely not a pit, maybe a lab or a weimaraner.

But it really doesn't matter... its a concrete statue that wears seasonal outfits. All glory to the concrete animals in outfits!!
