Pretty much doing nothing.
indeed
How about the T posting a video of it actually blowing snow....
Here's the video
Posted by the Globe from a 2011 storm. They did a piece on it.
This is one of 2 that the T owns but one is down. That is why they had to get loaners from the MTA in NY.

I remember the T using one of those at Mattapan station a few years ago. It was blowing gravel from the track area into the glass shelters, which are only a few feet away. Those big, and probably expensive, panes of glass were getting shattered left and right. I also remember a T cop keeping everyone at a distance for safety. Some irresponsible mother got pissed at him because she wanted to walk her very young child within a few feet of the action. She had to buy a Charlie Ticket NOW!!
Where was Snowzilla last week?
Can anyone explain what they were saving Snowzilla for?
The jet snowblowers move very
The jet snowblowers move very slowly, there main purpose is to clear out yard tracks and switches after a storm has finished. They can't go out on the main lines when any regular trains are on the tracks.
So why haven't they been used
So why haven't they been used after hours?
During overnight snow
During overnight snow emergencies they operate empty "snow trains" of regular equipment, some of which are equipped with plows and third-rail sleet scrapers. The jets can't cover much ground because of their slow speed during the 1 AM to 4:30 AM normal shutdown period.
Now if only they'd bring this
Now if only they'd bring this over to the Mattapan line and get that reopened.
They must have seen my
They must have seen my comment. Mattapan line track clearing is going on now.
Someone needs to tell them it
Someone needs to tell them it needs to point at the track....
