Sox break silence: Getting rid of Orsillo because

Because? Yes, because, the Herald reports. That's it? Well, O'Brien is "well known for bringing out the nuances of baseball strategy, sharing insights about players." Wait, isn't that what Remy's supposed to do?

They're pissing off fans ....who watch at home.

Whill it affect broadcast ratings or ticket sales? I doubt it. If they're competitive the loss of Orsillo will be an after thought.

Nonetheless, self inflicted wound by the front office and people will not be quick to trust their judgement unless the new rocks.

I don't mind the in-game banter but I've always found his presentation overblown and his voice blustery on the home run calls. When they use it in the ads I feel like it's some generic team somewhere with a fake announcer.

My guess is Remy will be gone next. This is tv after all, they have to build an audience with younger annoying guys and girls who like Michael Felger.

I doubt there are many girls who like Mike Felger. Not only is he a jerk, but that show's demographics skew heavily male.

As to Orsillo, I'm very sad to see him go. He works well with whoever they put in the seat next to him - it's a true pleasure to listen when he's paired with Eck.

"You're not fired - we just want someone else do to your job."

I'll have to remember that one.
