It takes brass to steal that much copper

Copper thief wanted

UPDATE: BPD reports that steely-eyed Transit Police officers spotted and arrested Matthew LaChance, 32, of Swansea.

Boston Police report they are looking for a guy they say stole $20,000 worth of copper welding cable from a Nashua Street construction site.

On Monday, December 14, 2015, officers took a report for a breaking and entering at the Moriarty construction site located at 1 Nashua Street in Boston. Officers spoke to a representative from Moriarty Construction who stated that the site had been broken into and a review of the site showed a large supply of copper welding cable missing from the site.

If you know anybody who seems to have an excess amount of copper welding cable, contact A-1 detectives at 617-343-4248 or contact the anonymous tip line by calling 800-494-TIPS or by texting TIP to CRIME (27463).

Scrap prices are well within an order of magnitude of retail for copper.

So that's still likely at least several thousand feet (ie many hundreds of pounds) worth. This guy clearly didn't walk off with it - he must have had a vehicle.

Got Hustled.

Why pay a shop steward and or PM to look after a job and its stock, when all it takes is a safety green shirt underneath a Pats hoody and a Milwaukee duffle bag...

maybe an inside deal?
Someone had to back up a truck..

Should be a matter of time before we find out who this 'Good Christian Soldier' is...Happy New Year!!
