Came through this morning (Eastie to South Boston) and didn't notice it any wetter than normal. Hoping this is just a temporary thing....jeezis..going to hell in a hurry.

They need to close the Callahan and Sumner Tunnels and use the savings to fix focus on fixing the Williams tunnel. Makes no sense to have 2 sets of tunnels when they cant maintain them.

Also why are we wasting money on the Longfellow Bridge? Just shut it down and building condos on it and then fix the MA Ave bridge.

Makes no sense to maintain those roads AND the Mass Pike!

Agreed, especially since Storrow Drive is the free, more heavily subsidized version of the Pike. With the current finances of the state, and people not willing to invest to maintain what we have, getting rid of storrow would have people who used to use storrow use (and pay for) the pike or use and pay for the commuter rail. Storrow needs 100s of millions in repairs for some of its bridges, this would save all that. An added bonus would be the return to access to the parkland along the river to Boston residents and visitors.

If Sumner and Callahan Tunnels are closed, you do realize almost all of that traffic would have to go through the Ted Williams instead, right? There would literally be 6-7 hour backups that would put the entire city in a total gridlock situation at rush hour.

You realize the ted Williams is new, and we were able to live with only those tunnels (same capacity as ted Williams). Plus not all traffic would have to go through Williams tunnel, there is the blue line and silver bus.

According to CBS Boston (http://boston.cbslocal.com/2015/03/06/ted-williams-tunnel-reopens-after-...) it was just a broken standpipe. So same idea as when a fire hydrant floods a street.

Maybe they had a bit of brain freeze.

Oh I got it, I just didn't think it was funny, and no one else on this comment thread had actually explained the REAL reason behind the flooding.

check out the photo taker's response for Fox25 when they asked for permission to use the photo.

No doubt they will want to blame it on Obama or something.

You gotta love the headlines over at fox. Just about every news outlet is running with the jobs numbers lede. Fox is more concerned with:

"Billionaire Putin hits Russian state workers with The Big Chill"

The job numbers are always quietly revised down a month or so after their release. It's why the economy still sucks for anyone not living in one of the few economically healthy cities in the country.

The last several months numbers of been revised up.

Yes, most of the recent revisions have been upward.

Not exactly, he has a second reply, he was working for WBZ at the time, so obviously he can't give another station the photo.
