West Roxbury gets new coffeehouse, fair-trade Nicaraguan to boot

El Recreo Estate Coffee opened this morning at 1876 Centre St., in the space vacated by iScream:

Dedicated to bringing premium Nicaraguan coffee while practicing social and environmental stewardship.

excellent coffee

I had been buying their beans from my local farmer's market last summer; the owner (I believe), was always very friendly, and their coffee beans were excellent, from the family farm in Nicaragua. I wish them well with their cafe, and I'm sad its on the wrong side of town for me....hope they keep coming to the farmers markets when it gets warm.

That way, they have the best chance of thriving, thereby practicing social and environmental stewardship in the long run.

Also hope that location on Centre is a good spot for them.

Not a sustainable business. People will just go to DD or S-bucks. Most won't pay the doubly high premium for 1) a one-off shop and 2) super perfect coffee beans
