Ken Hudak reports this SUV was apparently left open like that all night - owner's fortunate, at least, that the winds were blowing the snow out as fast as they were blowing them in.
If there were a baby sleeping in the back, or anything else that would be harmed by closing the hatch, do you really think that "minding your business and moving along" is the appropriate course of action? "Yeah, baby'll be fine, never mind that there's half a foot of snow drifted in the back..."
I didn't know that taking a picture prevented the photographer from subsequently closing the hatch.
In my area, taking a picture and texting the neighbor with the picture would be what would happen ... not that I've ever received such a communication or anything ... (blushes)

I think that's a feature
Just push this button on your remote key, and the tailgate will open before you get to the car!
In your crowded pocket ... the modern automotive equivalent of butt dialing.
Instead of taking a picture,
Instead of taking a picture, why not close it?
closing the back door
for all you know there could be a baby sleeping in the back of that SUV! mind your business and move along.
Think about it

These are mutually exclusive?
