Winning the poo: South End doggie daycare picks up what receding snowbanks leave behind
By adamg on Sat, 03/07/2015 - 3:10pm
The folks at K9 Strolls on Pembroke Street spent part of today roaming the neighborhood looking for dog crap and other stuff that's emerging as our glaciers slowly recede. They report they collected five large bags of the stuff - and reported a number of overflowing trash cans to the city.

Good For Them!
But on a "Debbie Downer" note - the overflowing trash can thing seems to have become the new normal, city-wide.
One of ...
One of your very best headlines, Adam. Nobody does it better.
Doo Gooders!
Dog crap is a serious problem for our waterways when the snow thaws. It causes a big bump of e-coli concentrations.
Glad that someone is being responsible.
Do poo
I don't get why people don't pick up after their dogs. So what if there is snow on the ground. You still need to pick up the waste!
A step further...
...why is it socially acceptable for a dog to pee on a sidewalk? that is disgusting, unhealthy, insanitary...etc.
Use the many dog parks in the area and train your dogs.
The amount of piss and shit from dogs on sidewalks is out of control.
South Boston is next
Just walked down W Broadway. I can only imagine what lies beneath these piles of snow. Poo would be the best scenario.
So I guess a snowstorm means...
...dog owners don't have to pick up after their animals? Seems like this winter has brought out the worst in people: space-saver abusers, vigilante vandals, double parkers, drivers who don't clear off their roofs, fraudulent snow-shovelers, and now the selfish and lazy people who leave their pets' crap in the snowbanks. Boston Wrong.
Unfortunately
Many dog owners seem to have completely forgot their poop-scooping responsibilities because:snow.
Pretty crappy attitude, if you ask me.
Fallon Field
As noted a few days ago, Fallon Field is covered in turds all along the paths. So gross.
Wow! Thanks
What a generous move. Thanks!
Anyone in the neighborhood should use them for dog walking / dog-day-care. Or just poke your head in to say hello and thanks!
Ps- anyone know how we can get Starbucks and Dunkin to host a coffee-cup cleanup?
Pps- great headline.
DD to *$ litter ratio
at least 1,000 : 1.
I guess Dunkin Donuts customers also don't pick up their dog's crap.
What are the Names of the Boundary Streets of District 2 ?...
What are the Names of the Boundary Streets of Boston City Council District 2 ?... Or at what link are Listings of the Names of the Boundary Streets of District Two ?...
The City Councilor for the District should have expertise short term and long term about improving the predicament

What is the name of the topic of this thread?
Oh yeah, nothing to do with Don's post. As per usual.
What great neighbors!
There are A LOT of poop piles and bags on the streets. How nice of K9 Strolls to invest the time and energy to do this for their area of the South End. I'll definitely shop there to support them.
