Woman in Dudley Square bus incident released on personal recognizance

Shelisa Bittle, 26, of Somerville, whose arrest at the back of a T bus Friday was captured on video was released on personal recognizance today on at her arraignment in Roxbury Municipal Court on charges of larceny, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Bittle was arrested after she allegedly stole from a pushcart in the station.

The officer who arrested her has been placed on administrative duty while Transit Police investigate the incident. In the video that was posted online, the officer is shown struggling with her and unholstering his gun as a crowd of phone-wielding riders get closer to the scene.

Transit Police say the video starts only after the woman refused the officer's request to get off the bus and then doused him with a liquid, possibly rubbing alcohol, that he took out his service weapon to make the people advancing towards him move back and that he never pointed it at them and put it away when they did move back.

She is due back in court on Nov. 2

Innocent, etc.

The Herald reports on her comments and those of her lawyer.

The officer in the case is himself black.

Look who her attorney is.. Carl Williams of the ACLU. A simple Google search will lead you to his Facebook page, which is filled with racism.

This guy hates white people and he hates police officers. I think he's dangerous, honestly.

So all of this was about the struggle of a black woman on American society? Is that what her attorney is saying?

It seems that America is separated into two different worlds the white opinion and the black opinion! My opinion is everyone has different experiences in life we receive advice from doctors and we accept it because of their education in the medical fields we need lawyers because most people are not educated in reading the language of law! But for you people who write this ignorance with no education of poverty or any thing urban why do you feel your opinion is warranted or even right in any way?? Your hate will handicap you forever in life and you will always fear the things you don't understand because you live in another world where black means wrong and white means right. So I hope you comment also on those animals that killed a innocent lil girl as well or are they victim's too.. Good day!!

You're wrong. Some people in America are able to see beyond just black and white.

Like me for instance, a proud Latino-American.

The cop was in a hostile situation. The female assaulted him. The crowd didn't help and elected to film instead of render assistance. Had just one of them stepped up to help, the cop may not have had to use the weapons at his disposal.

Have a good one!
