Woman hit by car at Columbia and Geneva; taken away in bad shape

UPDATE, 10:30 a.m., Friday: Police say the woman remains alive.

A woman was hit by a car and wound up under it around 11:30 p.m. at Columbia Road and Geneva Avenue in Dorchester. Both the homicide unit and the fatal-accident reconstruction team were called in. The driver remained at the scene.

Columbia Road was shut in both directions for the investigation.

...might be that the driver stayed and waited for the cops and ambulance to show up. That earns them the Citizen of the Week award these days.

(due to small size) but there doesn't appear to be any front end damage to the car, just a shattered windshield. As bad as it was (obviously anything like this is bad), I'm guessing (and hoping) the impact was less severe than the windshield damage implies.
