Police: This woman used credit cards taken from wallets stolen in Back Bay restaurants

Woman wanted by Boston Police

Boston Police have released photos of a woman they say might have something to do with the wave of wallet grabs in Newbury Street and Boylston Street restaurants over the past year - in particular, Stephanie's on Newbury and Joe's American Grill.

She's described as white, 30 to 40, 5'6" or 5'7" with a heavy build and long, brown hair.

The photos come from department stores in Cambridge and Newton where, police say, the woman used credit cards that came from wallets reported stolen by patrons at the two restaurants.

If you know her, contact D-4 detectives at 617-343-5619, or contact the anonymous tip line by calling 800-494-TIPS or texting TIP to CRIME (27463).

You're really committed to this junkie thing.

Are you convinced this isn't a junkie?

the white, I am not black, minority or working class, don't collect welfare, have never done anything wrong, Boston Herald like cowards on here do is prejudge. Don't worry just clean it up with some lame attempt at"I have black friends" or have given to this organization as reasoning for their closeted racism.

Aren't "most of the white, I am not black, minority or working class, don't collect welfare, have never done anything wrong, Boston Herald like cowards on here" judging a white woman? I hate to break it to you, but technically it's not racism. Heck, neither her race nor gender (except for the porn star reference) has been discussed.

If anything, it is pure prejudice. Back Bay. Wallet theft. Must be a drug addict. Heck, getting $80 per theft, I cannot see how this person would be a pro, as the payoff isn't that high. Unless she is working on volume, but for an opportunity crime how high could the volume be.

Maybe she's just a professional dirt-bag low-life thief.

That's the point I've been trying to make. She may have a drug problem, or she may have a debt problem, or she may a mental-health issue, or she may be a kleptomaniac, or she may be a hobby thief, or she may be a relocated Wall Street baron(ness) who wants to try a different type of thievery for a change. We don't know, and it doesn't seem right to immediately jump to the junkie conclusion absent any evidence one way or another.

Maybe I was destined to be a porn star but was born with a defect...

..but it's probably just because I'm Irish.

Without treatment, addicts get worse.

Jailing them is not effective.

Treating them is.

Oh, and did you know that most people in drug treatment have jobs, families, etc.? But I won't bore you with the facts.

I guess you simply want more addicts around so you can continue to spout this nonsense and obsess over it. That's the only way your compulsive diatribes against treatment centers make any sense, at least from a public health and medical standpoint.

Yeah, she probably has a pretty expensive methadone habit that she has to pay for. Those pesky methadone addicts always stealing to get their next fix. They should distribute the picture to heroin dealers, too, just in case.

Who else can we distribute the pic to, Inspector Clouseau?

Professional thieves are good enough to know that $80 a pop ain't really worth it.

which they then quickly (15minutes - 1/2 hr) max out on a buying spree. They usually, after boosting bags and pocket books in the Back Bay, immediately hop on the turnpike to a suburban mall, and use the card(s).
